BT-5M Obr. 2018

Modernised BT-5M Obr. 2018 light tank concept with autocannon, missile pods, smoke launchers, optics and radio antennas.

I wanted to have some fun modernising the old WWII-era BT-5, why not?

Firstly, I rejected adding the iconic modern Russian tank element that is ERA, as I believe the BT-5 shouldn't lose its one advantage: speed.

I swapped the 45mm cannon with a 30mm 2A42 autocannon and added a pair of 9M133 Kornet ATGM pods on the turret sides, creating such a great visual juxtaposition. The turret also has a modern sight system with a thermal camera, laser rangefinder, and smoke grenade launchers.

If you look closely, you can even see the laser warning receivers!
